How Even a Beginner guitarist Can make 350% Improvement in Less that 30 days

People often ask me how long it will take to get good at guitar. Becoming good at guitar is often defined differently by different people. But what I can say is this. If you want to get to a level that you can play some songs that you like and navigate pretty well on the guitar then it will take about 6 months of practice for 3 1/2 hours per week. You are probably wondering how to make 350% improvement thought as the headline says. Will I’ll will explain to you how…

Focus on one thing that will give you biggest bang for your buck

If you want to get really good really quick the first thing you need to define is what your one thing is. What is the thing that you are going to spend at least 80% or more of your time on. For me it was learning songs. I remember when I got my first rental guitar I played it for hours and hours on end. I became obsessed with learning smoke on the water, and Iron man. And as I played those songs over and over again I slowly tried to make sure I ways playing efficiently. I held my self accountable to make sure I had good form and good technique.

So what is your 1 thing? Most guitar and music instructors will have you start to learn out of beginner book, especially if you do not know what it is that you want and you are looking to trust in your instructor. This is why it is very important that you tell your instructor exactly what is is that you want, so that they can be held accountable to guide you in the right way for you. It is not some cookie cutter approach because everybody is different and has different learning styles. This is why it is important that you find pro guitar lessons in Atlanta. Because if you don’t you will be instructed by a teacher that will teach you just like he does everybody else and will get the same results everybody else gets. You will end up giving up in the first 30-60 days.

Don’t be shy and get in touch with me about guitar lessons today

I would highly encourage you to get in contact with me today so that we can get you started down your guitar journey and start learning the right things in the right way so that you don’t waste countless hours practicing the wrong things and learning the wrong techniques. It is really difficult in the beginning to learn the guitar which is why you really need to make a decision going into that you will not throw in the towel for at least six months. Maybe even longer than that depending on your aptitude and how much time you put in.

When you first start on guitar its a challenge, Good news is that it gets easier as you progress

When you learn to play other instruments such as woodwind or brass, or even the piano they are often easy in the beginning but as you progress they get harder and harder. Guitar on the other hand is very challenging in the beginning, I mean you are pushing your skin fingertips against steel, it’s gonna even be a little painful until you develop callus on your finger tips. But trust me, If I can do it then so can you. Which is one reason why it is so important to find the right coach that really believes in you. So just remember that the beginning levels of guitar is somewhat of a challenge but if you can get over the first hurdle then the sky is the limit, or even better no limits.

So how do you make the 350% progress in 30 days?

If you really want to excel past the beginning hurdle faster than anyone else then you need to do one thing and one thing alone. Practice! My teacher would always tell me that practice doesn’t make perfect but perfect practice makes perfect. So remember before when I told you that you need to focus on one thing? Well that is just half of it, the other half is how much time you are actually going to put into this.

Just think about this for a second. If everyone else is only practicing for about 3 hours  week and you are practicing for 12 hours a week then you are going to progress 4x faster then they are assuming that you stick with it and do not give up before them. Think if you put in 20 hours a week because you just absolutely love it? This is what you need! You need a strong desire to really get through this especially if you want to make 350% progress. It really is that simple.

Learning to play guitar was not meant to be easy, but it can be fun if you like growth!

This doesn’t mean that you always play the same things over and over again. And it also doesn’t meant that you ware watching TV 100% of the time while you are practicing. You are probably not to the point where you can play scales why you do other things which you can do a little bit as you progress. But really what you are doing is not multi tasking but you are switching from task to tasks. Often times you will notice that if you are playing guitar and watching tv, and you are really focused on guitar that all of a sudden the move is over and you missed most of it. I used to do this all the time so there is nothing 100% wrong with this.

However, Sometimes you just need to sit down and get down to some work and end the distractions. This is why as I mentioned before that it is important that you have a strong desire before you set out. And that you make a decision that you are going to do this. If you cant do these two things then please do not reach out to me because I am a pro that is only looking for students that are absolutely committed to learning guitar.

All together now

So to recap real quick, to become successful on guitar faster than everyone else. You need to focus on one thing at a time, we call this the one thing that will generate the most results. After you figure out what that is for you, the next step is to sit down, or stand up and put in the work. Put in the time, play a movie in the background if you have to but remember not to get distracted by YouTube videos. Because if you do not hold yourself accountable and honest and put in the time then you are the result of your choice. Good Luck, and I hope to hear form you soon if you are sincerely looking to learn from the pro 😉
